This guide will walk you through all of Chapter 8, but in a way that respects your time. I will be brief on the obvious points of the mission that are hard to miss, but will expand on the more necessary portions. The game divides this chapter into 3 parts, so I will section each portion out in case you need to skip to a certain point. Ensure the mission is actively tracked in your quests so markers display correctly.

Part 1: Asher Steps
The chapter begins immediately following the funeral of Chapter 7, and you can resume play as Kliff. Start by meeting with Torstein and following him to the docks.

Once there, he gives you a couple of quest items to read and asks foe you to assist Maegu.

Open the letter from Maegu, which reveals a new objective to travel to. You can safely fast-travel here if you have discovered the area before.

When you arrive, there will be a shrine with 2 stone lanterns. Light the lantern, which will trigger a cutscene and summon Maegu.

She will send you to 3 locations to retrieve 3 artifacts to track down her missing sister. While the locations are marked, this image shows the kind of artifact you are looking for.

Once collected, return to the shrine where you met Maegu. A new option will appear on the screen, which gives you a new objective location.
You are heading to the Ironclad fort north of the shrine. You can get there however you want, but be wary of the army of Harpies around.

You aren’t required to fight them, but if they give you trouble, just use R1+L1 to use your blinding focus. Aiming this at them will kill them and stop them from harassing you.

At the fort, you will find Maegu’s sister, Woosa. As you find her, a boss fight will trigger.

This boss is one of the easier ones. He’s basically an elite with a boss health bar, so taking him out shouldn’t take you long.

After the fight, hop on your horse and let Woosa climb on. You can ride her back to the shrine with Maegu.

Once reunited, a cutscene will play and end this part of the chapter.
Part 2: To Demeniss
Teleport back to camp and check the dragon statue at the shrine. There you will find a notice of Myurdin’s potential whereabouts.

You will need to travel deep into Demeniss and visit a manor. You have to sneak inside to gather intel.

You can go in anywhere that is convenient, but this location is the easiest I’ve found.

Once inside, you will find a fake wall that you can walk into, which spins it and allows you inside.

In the room, you can grab the Intel and head back out.

A cutscene will play afterwards and introduce you to Collette Azerian. She will have you follow her to her office for your next mission.

Next, head to another location nearby, Sungrove Manor. You will need to sneak in again, this time going to the ground floor.

You will find a memory fragment there that you have to watch.

Now it’s time to, you guessed it, sneak into another manor!

This time, you just need to kill Byron. As soon as you are close, you can use the prompt to assassinate him.

After he’s dead, you can return to Collette Azerian’s manor. When you arrive, Damiane will be there too. Speak to them to share your intel.

The sneaking around is over, and it’s time to be aggressive and capture a fortress. Head to the marked area and speak to Duke Wells.

Now the fight begins. Per usual, you need to reduce the percentage tracker to zero. There are 3 towers spread across the area. You can take them down for a quick drop in percentage.

These towers are made of wood, so you can use your blinding focus to start a fire at the base. Doing so can knock down the tower.

Alternatively, you can use a few focused arrows shot at the base to knock the tower down.

Once at zero, you can head into the castle courtyard for a boss fight. It’s another low health boss, but he does have an annoying shield you have to deal with.

Once defeated, speak to the Duke again.

He will send you to the capital to search for clues about Myurdin’s whereabouts.

Surprisingly, you don’t have to do much sneaking when you’re inside.

Head upstairs to the dining hall to find a memory fragment to watch. This one is unique, though! As you watch, you will have to follow Bastier’s memory out of the room and down the stairs. If you fail to follow him, you have to start the memory over again.

Once in the crowd of people, you will stay in the memory, but you can interact with some nobles. There are 3 of them, and they all have a distinct glow around them.

Once you hear all 3, the memory will play out the rest of the way.

You will then be thrown into a surprise boss fight, but don’t worry… you are meant to lose this fight.

After your defeat, more cutscenes will play out, ending this part of the chapter.
Part 3: Traitor
The final part of the chapter is quite short. With Kliff out of commission, it’s time to play as Damiane for a bit.

You will already be at the capital at this point, so next, head to the marked building north of the city. You can sneak inside easily through this window.

Once inside, go downstairs and take out the only guard in your way.

Continue past him into the next room, and you will find a hatch to climb down into.

This hidden dungeon holds Collette Azerian’s sister. Or at least her body anyways.

You can now exit the building to begin the final part of the chapter.

You will travel to a new area to face Bastier. This boss fight is very difficult, especially if you haven’t played as Damiane much (if any). Before continuing onward, stock up on food, give her any new armor or weapons you’ve been saving, and upgrade accordingly.

Now onto the boss fight. Unlike other bosses in this chapter, this one has 2 stages. The second stage makes him behave like most bosses and teleport around constantly. Just stock up on food like normal, though and you should be able to power through it.

Once defeated, this chapter comes to a close.
