Elemental Skill: Low-Temperature Cooking

Behold the true meaning of “cooking”! Escoffier will demonstrate different cooking techniques when you Tap or Hold this skill, but rest assured, each of them is Fontaine’s pride and joy.

Tap

Activates her All-Spectrum Multi-Use Cooking Mek in its Cold Storage mode and deals AoE Cryo DMG to nearby opponents.

Cooking Mek: Cold Storage Mode
Follows the current active character and fires Frosty Parfaits at nearby opponents at intervals, dealing Cryo DMG.

Note: this will be referred to as a “summon” or simply her “E” from now on. This is a very powerful sub DPS talent, allowing Escoffier to deal significant damage from off-field.

Arkhe: Ousia
At intervals, Escoffier will summon a Surging Blade when activating her Cooking Mek in Cold Storage mode, dealing Ousia-aligned AoE Cryo DMG.

1st Ascension Passive: Better to Salivate Than Medicate

After using the Elemental Burst Scoring Cuts, Escoffier will obtain the Rehab Diet effect for 9s: Restores HP for nearby active characters every 1s based on 138.24% of Escoffier’s ATK.

A very powerful healing talent. After unlocking it (and assuming your Escoffier is built well), you will likely never die.

4th Ascension Passive: Inspiration-Immersed Seasoning

When there are 1/2/3/4 Hydro or Cryo characters in the party, Escoffier will decrease the Hydro RES and Cryo RES of any opponents hit by her Elemental Skill, Low-Temperature Cooking, or her Elemental Burst, Scoring Cuts, by 5%/10%/15%/55% for 12s.

A powerful yet restrictive RES shred talent. However, when it does activate, it gives more RES shred than any character in the game. Due to that, Escoffier does incentivize playing Hydro and Cryo teams and not using an Anemo VV unit.

Constellations

Descriptions are condensed. Good constellations are given a ⭐.

C1 ⭐When Escoffier’s E or Q hits an opponent and the team is fully Cryo or Hydro, CRIT DMG of Cryo DMG is increased by 60%A very powerful constellation, generally at least 20% increase in team DPS
C2Gives 5 quills to the whole team. Every time an attack hits an opponent, consume a quill and deal 240% ATK as Cryo DMGUnfortunately, not enough quills to go around to make this good
C3Increase E by 3 levelsWhile Escoffier’s sub DPS is good, increasing a talent by 3 levels is not worth a whole 5*
C41st Ascension Passive healing lasts 6 seconds longer. Every 1s, have a chance to heal the active character by 100% ATK and restore 2 energy to Escoffier. Max 7 activations Escoffier’s energy requirements are not terribly hard to reach, so this isn’t as impactful. Due to its chance mechanic, It becomes even less impactful with poor CRIT Rate
C5Increase Q by 3 levelsEscoffier’s healing is good enough, even with low talent levels.
C6 ⭐Escoffier’s E will fire off a shot of AOE Cryo damage that deal 500% ATK as elemental skill damage. This can be activated every time a party member normal attacks, charged attacks, or plunges. However, it can only be used six times.A very good damage-increasing constellation for Escoffier. However, the four preceding constellations are quite lackluster.

Combos

EQEscoffier uses her elemental skill and pre-funnels her particles while bursting
QECan be used when funneling Escoffier’s skill particles to another unit (e.g., Ayaka)
EQNxCan be used when Favonius procs are needed

Weapons

Symphonist of Scents
Escoffier’s signature weapon. It provides a lot of CRIT DMG, as well as having a base attack. It also provides teamwide ATK% whenever Escoffier heals

Calamity Queller
Calamity Queller has the highest base attack of any weapon in the game. Additionally, its passive and secondary stats also give a lot of attack. However, it provides no crit.

Fractured Halo3
This weapon provides good base attack and CRIT DMG. Its passive also gives Escoffier some ATK%.

Favonius Lance4
A good 4* weapon that is permanently available and relatively easy for F2P players to acquire. It has a high base attack and can help Escoffier meet her ER requirements. It also has an energy generation passive to help the team, which is especially valuable in Stygian Onslaught

Engulfing Lightning
A weapon that provides a lot of ER. Furthermore, its passive gives a lot of ATK%. However, the amount of ER it gives can make building artifacts hard, especially in triple cryo teams.

Deathmatch
Escoffier’s best 4* weapon for her personal damage. However, it can only be obtained from the BP.

Sacrificer’s Staff5
Another good 4* weapon; it provides ATK% and some ER. However, it is wish-exclusive.

Energy Recharge Requirements

Use the Energy Recharge Calculator for exact numbers. Each Favonius proc can reduce her ER requirements by ~10%+.

C4 assumes full procs (14 energy generated)

Artifacts

Artifact Sets

Golden Troupe
Golden Troupe provides 75% Elemental Skill DMG bonus. Since practically all of Escoffier’s damage is elemental skill damage, this is a very potent set for her. In general, this is her best-in-slot set.

Blizzard Strayer
Blizzard Strayer provides 15% Cryo DMG bonus as well as conditional CRIT Rate buffs. However, most bosses cannot be frozen, meaning 20% CRIT Rate from the set is usually lost. Furthermore, the massive CRIT Rate from the set, along with Cryo resonance and her ascension, can make balancing her ratio hard.

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
When Escoffier’s personal damage isn’t as important, she can equip Scroll to give all party members a 12% DMG bonus. However, do note that other teammates (most notably Citlali) may be able to utilize Scroll better.

Noblesse Oblige
An alternative to Scroll if a teammate holds it. It provides a 20% ATK buff to the team.

Tenacity of the Millelith
Tenacity provides a 20% ATK buff to the team, and Escoffier has 100% uptime on the buff. However, Escoffier is often paired with Furina, who can be make better use of this set when supportive sets are warranted

Teambuilding

Due to her 4th Ascension passive, Escoffier generally favors having a team full of either Cryo or Hydro teammates.

Notable Teammates

Cryo On-field

Skirk
Skirk is the most powerful Cryo DPS in the game right now. Additionally, Skirk synergizes well with Escoffier, as her ascension passives encourage freeze teams.

Kamisato Ayaka
Ayaka is a Cryo DPS who likes playing in freeze a lot. Even though she is outclassed by Skirk, she also greatly benefits from Escoffier. She takes the place of an anemo teammate to provide high single-target personal damage and healing, which allows more flexibility in the fourth slot (assuming Furina).

Wriothesley
Wriothesley is in the same boat as Ayaka. Though outmatched by Skirk, his freeze teams all benefit from Escoffier.

Ganyu
Ganyu has historically enjoyed higher usage in melt teams. However, her freeze teams have not been weak. Additionally, Escoffier generated a lot of particles, which can help her get her burst (her main source of damage in freeze) up better. However, Escoffier’s damage does favor single-target situations, and Ganyu’s burst is structured so that AOE situations are favored.9

Cryo Off-field

Citlali
As a Natlan unit, Citlali can equip Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City10 to give a large DMG% buff to the team. She can also equip TTDS to give a 40% ATK buff to the on-fielder. Additionally, she also has 20% hydro res baked into her kit, which benefits Furina or hydro carries.

Shenhe
Shenhe is a very good Cryo support who buffs Cryo DMG%. Additionally, she can provide further Cryo RES shred, as well as good particle generation

Rosaria
Rosaria is a nice Cryo support; she is able to give CRIT rate to the team. Furthermore, she also brings a little bit of personal damage

Chongyun
When playing an on-fielder without Cryo infusion to their normal/charged attacks, Chongyun can provide Cryo infusion.

Hydro on-field

Neuvillette
Neuvillette is a powerful Hydro DPS. Despite his ascension passive indicating otherwise, his best team11 is actually a freeze team with Escoffier.

Mualani
Mualani is a potent Hydro DPS. While her kit favors playing vaporize teams, Escoffier is so bewilderingly overpowered that her teams with Escoffier are also good. In certain situations, she can take a supportive role by equipping Scroll and TTDS

Kamisato Ayato
Ayato can benefit greatly from Escoffier. As a hydro driver12, he can also enable other teammates.

Hydro Off-field

Furina
Furina is literally Escoffier’s girlfriend. Furina’s fanfare stacks rely on healing, and Escoffier’s healing (both from burst and A1) is very powerful. Additionally, Furina has potent sub dps that Escoffier can boost.

Yelan
Yelan has a lot of personal damage and a ramping DMG% bonus that is mutually beneficial with all parts of Escoffier’s kit.

Mona
Mona can equip TTDS. Furthermore, Mona’s burst also increases CRIT Rate and provides more damage bonus to the on-field carry.

Xingqiu
Xingqiu has a lot of off-field hydro application. However, his sub DPS and support potential are far less than Yelan’s. Furthermore, his cooldowns are sometimes extremely long and can make awkward rotations.

Pyro on-field

Though not fully synergistic with Escoffier’s kit, Pyro on-fielders can take advantage of Escoffier’s cryo application to melt more often.

Arlecchino
Arlecchino can take perfect advantage of extra Cryo application. Since her pyro application might be slightly high for solo-Cryo melt, a second Cryo applicator allows her to melt more often. This offers a more comfortable playstyle at the cost of her dps ceiling, though it is still very strong.13

Mavuika
Mavuika also appreciates more Cryo. However, her rate of Pyro application is much slower than Arlecchino’s, meaning her melt teams with only Citlali are much more comfortable and viable. Furthermore, Escoffier takes a slot away from either Xilonen or Iansan, meaning that Mavuika’s Fighting Spirit generation is also stunted

Other teammates

Kazuha
Kazuha can make up for the 40% RES shred by equipping VV. He provides crowd control in multi-target scenarios

Xilonen
Xilonen also nearly makes up for the 40% RES shred purely through her talent. Furthermore, she can also equip Scroll for more DMG%.

Example Teams

Skirk/Furina/Yelan/Escoffier14

One of Skirk’s premium teams.15 Furina provides a great DMG% bonus, and Escoffier acts as a healer. Additionally, Yelan provides some DMG% bonus and hydro resonance. Finally, Skirk can benefit from all the buffs.

Quick and easy rotation:

Furina EDQ > Escoffier EQ > Yelan EQ16 > Skirk combo

Ayaka/Furina/Citlali/Escoffier

One of Ayaka’s best teams. Furina and Escoffier synergize perfectly, and Citlali provides buffs with TTDS and Scroll. Furthermore, Citlali also brings good Cryo particle generation to help with Ayaka’s ER needs

Quick and easy rotation:

Furina EDQ > Escoffier EQ > Citlali EQ > Ayaka combo17

Furina/Escoffier/Flex/Flex

A general archetype for Escoffier’s freeze-based teams, with Escoffier being able to heal to maximize Furina’s buffs. However, the flex slots must be Hydro or Cryo to maximize Escoffier’s buffs. Even so, this is a reliable combination to bring any Hydro or Cryo DPS up to shape.

Quick and easy rotation:

Furina EDQ > Escoffier EQ > team

Arlecchino/Citlali/Bennett/Escoffier

This team allows Arlecchino to melt more of her normal attacks than a variant with Escoffier replaced with Xilonen or Kazuha. Additionally, this team allows Escoffier to run a build with 0 ER, which does mitigate the loss of 45% RES shred.

Quick and easy rotation:

Arlecchino E(QE)18 > Bennett EQ > Escoffier E > Citlali EQ19 N1 > Arlecchino 3(N5)

Escoffier/Xingqiu/Mona/Rosaria

A decent F2P-friendly team for Escoffier. Since Escoffier, Xingqiu, and Rosaria can all play as off-fielders, Mona can play on-field to extend her omen duration. You can replace any character (except Escoffier) with your favorite Hydro or Cryo DPS.

Quick and easy rotation

Xingqiu EQ > Escoffier EQ20 > Rosaria EQ > Mona

Footnotes

  1. In single-target scenarios, it is comparable to Citlali’s
  2. As an off-field character, Escoffier does not use her normal attacks often.
  3. Other 5* CRIT statsticks, like Staff of Homa or Lumidouce Elegy, are also in this category.
  4. Tamayuratei no Ohanashi is generally considered better, but it is event-limited and can no longer be acquired. It also does not provide the team with energy.
  5. Prospector’s Drill performs slightly worse, but it is also a decent choice
  6. Choose based on whether you meet her ER requirements (and whether you even need to burst or not)
  7. Attack goblets are only comparable when using Golden Troupe
  8. Choose based on your Crit ratio. In Blizzard Strayer, use Crit DMG
  9. Ganyu’s burst damage is directly proportional to the average number of enemies hit by each icicle, which obviously favors multi-target situations
  10. In triple Cryo teams, Citlali may have trouble activating both Scroll and TTDS due to the fact that the hydro aura is already consumed by Escoffier when Citlali takes the field.
  11. Only at C0
  12. Very similar to Neuvillette, but with much weaker personal damage
  13. I have cleared Stygian Fearless twice with Arle/Citlali/Bennett/Escoffier
  14. In this team, Escoffier holds Scroll for maximum team DPS, assuming a well-invested Skirk. However, when using Citlali, Escoffier should hold Noblesse.
  15. Her other premium teams can replace Yelan with one of: Shenhe, Citlali, Mona, Mualani
  16. Can use a second Yelan E if she is C1 or holds Sacrificial
  17. You can switch up Escoffier and Citlali if Citlali holds Starcaller’s Watch and not TTDS
  18. QE when healing is needed
  19. Can use QE if Escoffier’s particles are needed to burst every rotation
  20. You can weave in a few normal attacks in the middle to proc Xingqiu’s rain swords
