Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Back to Old Lumiere Walkthrough

After finishing the main story of Old Lumiere and defeating Renoir, you can come back to find new paths that have opened up. There are Pictos, weapons, Chroma, and an optional boss waiting across these areas. Here is everything you need.

Manor Gardens

When you return to Old Lumiere, the manor is gone. Head to Expedition Flag: Manor Gardens and you will find two new paths: one going left along the boundary wall of where the manor used to be, and one going right. Take the left path first as it makes the rest of the exploration easier.

Left Path

Walk down the left path until you reach a ledge with a magic rope. Climb down to the area below. A Chevaliere enemy is waiting at the bottom; defeat it. Directly behind where it was standing, there is a chair with 4,990 Chroma on it. Also, check the ground near the melting golden sword for Journal Expedition 42. Once you have both, climb back up the magic rope and head to the right path.

Right Path

As you enter the right path, look at the wall of the building on your right. There is a lock on it; break it. That is the first of three locks for a Paint Cage. After going through the entrance into the main area, please take a look down the ledge on your left. An enemy is down there, drop down, beat it, and climb back up.

The second lock is on the wall of another building to the right of the entrance. For the third lock, go to the broken building and turn left. You will see a ledge with a grapple point on the other side. Stand at the edge and look left; the last lock is halfway up the cliff face in the distance. Shoot it from here. Once all three locks are broken, you receive the Redalim weapon for Lune from the Paint Cage.

Use the grapple to cross to the other side of the ledge. A group of Chevaliere enemies is here; take them out. Grapple across a second gap and use the magic rope to climb up. After grappling across the next gap, drop down to the ledge below to find another magic rope. From the bottom of that rope, look around to collect 4,990 Chroma.

Climb back up and use the handholds at the end of the platform to reach the ledge above. This is the same ledge with the grapple point you dropped from earlier. Cross the next two grapple points and climb the series of handholds to reach a high ledge. A Chevaliere is waiting up here. Defeat it to get the Perilous Parry Pictos at level 10, then grab the nearby item for the Healing Death Pictos.

After collecting both, drop down to the area with the giant molten swords. Take the right path from here and keep following it until you reach Expedition Flag: Train Station Ruins. Rest here before continuing as there is an optional boss fight just ahead.

Train Station Ruins

Go past the flag and follow the path until you see a magic rope a few steps ahead. Climb down. As soon as you land, look to the right — that is where the Chromatic Danseuse boss is. Follow the right side path to reach it.

Use your strongest attacks and stay focused on dodging its moves throughout the fight. Winning gives you the Danseso weapon for Verso, the Revive Paradox Pictos, six Polished Chroma Catalysts, and fifteen Colours of Lumina.

After the fight, look for the broken rail ramp on the left side and follow it to the top. At the broken section, jump across to the broken pillar in front to collect 4,990 Chroma. Drop back down and head toward the moss tree. Just behind it, there is 1,248 Chroma on the ground.

Once you have everything, return to Expedition Flag: Train Station and fast travel to the Right Street expedition flag.

Right Street Revisited

From Right Street, take the main path to reach the Fading Man. From there, head toward the giant axon where the cutscene played during your first visit. Turn left and you will find a Chevaliere patrolling the path. Beat it and keep following the route. Defeat the next group of enemies and climb the handholds at the end of the path.

At the top, you will see a group of Chevalieres on the left and a Mime on the right. Deal with the Chevalieres first, then take on the Mime. Defeating it gives you the Sciel Haircut Braid.

With everything collected, head back to the world map and make your way to the first Axon for your next destination.
