Visages is where you face the first Axon. Enemies throughout this area are weak to Fire and Dark elements, so build your party around that going in.

Follow the path along the cliff when you first enter. Grab the Colour of Lumina on the right before moving on. Keep following the main path to the center of the island for a cutscene, then activate Expedition Flag: Plazza.
This area is your hub for the Visages region. Four paths branch out from here, one leads to the final boss (the obvious passage between the two huge stone pillars), but explore the other three first.
Each one is themed around an emotion, and clearing all three prevents the final boss from gaining bonus abilities during the fight.

Near the flag, find Blooraga, a tall Gestral Merchant selling Pictos – Healing Share. Defeat him in battle, and he’ll also stock Sciel Weapon – Sadon.
Joy Vale

From the flag, take the first path on the left, going counterclockwise. Follow it until the environment shifts to a greenish, grassy look. Enter the huge mask at the end and continue forward. Defeat the pair of Moissonneuses ahead and activate Expedition Flag: Joy Vale.

Ahead are dancing enemies, Moissonneuse and Chapelier. Kill them, then turn left and grab Chroma x2,940 under a tree. Turn right and head up the slope to kill the patrolling enemies. Behind them is Journal – Expedition 69.

Continue along the path to find a Mime hiding behind a tree. Defeat it for Verso Outfit – Baguette and Verso Haircut – Baguette.
Head back to the flag. Instead of going left this time, take the slope on the right. Here you’ll find a new enemy type, the Contorsionniste. Kill it to get Contorso, a weapon for Verso. Nearby, grab the Healing Tint Shard.

Return to the main path past the dancing enemies. There’s a huge floating mask ahead, but before approaching it, check the right side, there are more enemies there.
Kill them and pick up a Resplendent Chroma Catalyst behind them, beneath one of the grassy statues. Climb the slope on the right, kill the Boucheclier, and grab Pictos – Confident Fighter at the end.

Head back down to the intersection and take the narrow path on the left. Beat the Contorsionniste at the end, it appears in a particularly unsettling way, and collect Verso Weapon – Confuso. Then head to the giant floating mask.
Boss: Jovial Moissonneuse

When the mask asks you a question, answer “Joy” to start the fight. This red-glowing Moissonneuse has higher health and damage than the regular version and fights alongside a Chapelier and Boucheclier. All three are weak to Fire and Dark.
It has two main combos:
- The Short Combo is a 3-hit sequence, horizontal slash, upward slash, downward slam.
- The Long Combo is a 6-hit sequence with varied slashes and delayed attacks.
- It also has a Mask Heal, where the floating mask behind it restores its health.
This fight also introduces the Berserk status, which increases a character’s damage by 5% per turn, stacking up to 12 times.
The Chapelier is the biggest nuisance here, it floats and frequently applies debuffs. Use free aim shots to bring it down first, then focus on the boss. Parry timing on the boss’s combos takes some getting used to, so study the patterns carefully.
Rewards: Lune Weapon – Chapelim + Resplendent Chroma Catalyst
Sadness Vale

Back at the Plazza flag. Take the second path, the one just before the main boss passage. Follow it until the lighting shifts to blue, then enter the mask. You’re teleported to Sadness Vale. Deal with the Contorsionniste on the path and activate Expedition Flag: Sadness Vale.

Take the right path up the slope first. Kill the enemies and climb the ledge on the right for Chroma x2,940. Head back to the flag, kill the three sad Nevrons, then check the left side, there’s a Resplendent Chroma Catalyst on one of the graves.

Follow the left path up the slope. In the open area, look behind what looks like a crumpled root for Chroma x2,940. Continue forward to an optional boss.
Optional Boss: Chromatic Ramasseur

This upgraded Ramasseur keeps attacking continuously until you parry enough times to break its pattern, that’s the entire gimmick of the fight. It’s weak to Light damage. Once you break its pattern, deal as much damage as possible before it recovers.
Its two main attacks are Mortal Hit, which instantly kills any character it connects with, and the Nevron Arm Combo, a 4 or 8-swing sequence using its severed arms.
Learning the parry timing is the whole challenge here, once you have it down, the fight becomes manageable.
Rewards: Pictos – Augmented Counter II + Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x2 + Colour of Lumina x5

After the fight, look at the back of the arena for Pictos – Glass Canon.
Return to the main path and continue toward the giant mask. Before reaching it, two slopes appear on the right. Take the left one first, kill the enemies, follow the path up, and grab the Resplendent Chroma Catalyst behind the rock wall on the left. There’s a climbable ledge behind it leading to Journal – Expedition 39.

Drop back down and take the right slope. At the end is an Energy Tint Shard guarded by enemies.
Approach the giant mask and answer “Sadness” to start the fight.
Boss: Sorrowful Chapelier

An enhanced Chapelier with more health and damage, fighting alongside a Boucheclier and Moissonneuse. All three are weak to Fire and Dark.
Its attacks are:
- Triple Strike — three downward strikes that can inflict Inverted status, which turns healing into damage.
- Axe Slash — three sweeping attacks that can hit the whole party and apply Mark.
- Mask Launch — summons orbiting masks that attack your characters.
- Mask Exhaustion — the background mask periodically applies Exhaustion to one of your characters.
Kill the supporting enemies first. Use free aim shots to deal with this boss effectively, Fire and Dark element weapons work best. If any character gets the Inverted status, don’t heal them until it wears off.
Rewards: Monoco Weapon – Boucharo + Resplendent Chroma Catalyst
Anger Vale

Back at the Plazza flag. The third path is past the main boss passage, behind the Gestral Merchant. Follow it and go down the handholds on the wall.

At the bottom of the slope, before entering the mask, look left for Chroma x1,470.
Enter the mask. Defeat the enemies ahead and activate Expedition Flag: Anger Vale. Look right from the flag and head up the slope for a Resplendent Chroma Catalyst.

Head back to the main path and explore before going to the giant mask. Go left and hug the left wall to find Chroma x2,940. Head back until you see a big statue, turn left, and climb the slope. Kill the enemies at the top for a Revive Tint Shard.
Follow the path left and slide down using the magic rope. Kill the Contorsionniste and pick up Pictos – Powered Attack. Head outside, there’s a cave directly across.

Before entering the cave, turn left up the slope, kill the enemies, and grab the Resplendent Chroma Catalyst behind them. Now enter the cave. The path splits, take the left branch first, kill the enemies, and get Pictos – Double Burn. Take the right branch to reach a Manor door.

The Manor door teleports you to a playroom with a piano. Grab Record – Verso beside the piano. Open the door on the left and pick up Journal – Unknown at the foot of the bed. Head back to Anger Vale.
Approach the giant mask and answer “Anger” to start the fight.
Boss: Seething Boucheclier

An upgraded Boucheclier with more health and damage, fighting alongside a Chapelier and Moissonneuse. All three are weak to Fire and Dark.
Its attacks are:
- Sword Combo — two horizontal swipes and a downward slash.
- Prepare to Counterattack — the boss charges up its shield slam; stop attacking during this or you’ll trigger it.
- Shield Slam — a Gradient Attack requiring a Gradient Counter.
- Mask Speed — the background mask periodically gives the boss an extra immediate turn.
Kill the Chapelier first with free aim shots. Against the boss, keep stacking Burn as much as possible. Bring Sciel for heavy Dark damage. When the boss starts charging its counterattack, don’t hit it, use that time to buff or heal instead. When Shield Slam comes, use Gradient Counter.
Rewards: Maelle Weapon – Clierum + Resplendent Chroma Catalyst
The Summit and Final Boss

All three emotion vales are done. Rest at the Plazza flag and spend your Attribute Points, there are two back-to-back boss fights ahead. When ready, take the main passage between the two huge stone pillars.
A Fading Man stops you for a brief conversation. Continue along the path, using grapple points as needed, until you reach Expedition Flag: Summit. Climb the stairs and proceed until the cutscene triggers the first fight.
Boss: Visages

The Visages is a massive floating entity surrounded by stone masks representing different emotions.
Throughout the fight, a mirror displays an emotion that determines which attack pattern the boss uses:
- Peace Mask — sends four shockwaves that give the boss shields if they connect.
- Confidence Mask — slams to create a shockwave that heals the boss if it hits your party.
- Determination Mask — a 3-hit combo where the second attack requires a jump to avoid.
- Doubt Mask — a 5-hit combo with alternating attacks.
- Anxiety Mask — two quick spear smashes repeated twice.
The boss is weak to Fire and Dark. Stack Burn continuously and use Sciel’s Foretell stacks for big Dark damage. Mastering the parry and dodge timing for each mask’s pattern is what makes this fight smooth.
Important: Before finishing the fight, heal your party and clear debuffs. The second phase begins immediately from your current state.
Boss: Mask Keeper

The true Axon of the Visages area. If you skipped the three emotion vales, the Mask Keeper can call on those bosses for help during this fight. Clearing all three beforehand prevents that.
It’s resistant to Ice and weak to Fire and Dark. When it drops below 50% health, a Defensive Aura activates, it gains a shield every time it successfully hits your party. Use Maelle’s Breaking Rules or Monoco’s Chevalier Piercing to handle shields quickly.
Its attacks are:
- Swing Combo — 3-hit combo on a single target.
- Vehement Attack — 4 to 6 hits across all party members.
- Chaotic Combo — a complex 7-hit combo on a single target.
- Fire Sword Attack — three attacks followed by a Gradient Attack requiring a counter.
- Storm Attack — a quick 4-hit combo on one character.
Keep stacking Burn throughout the fight. Break its shields fast with shield-breaking skills and use Gradient Counter whenever it uses Fire Sword Attack. Focus on Breaking the boss to open it up for big damage windows.
Rewards: Pictos – Immaculate + Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x6 + Recoat x2
After the final cutscenes, you return to camp. Your next destination is the second Axon, Sirene.
