Act 2 starts right after a cutscene where Gustave is killed and a new character named Verso takes over. You are back on the world map on a small island. Your main objective is to go to Forgotten Battlefield, but there is a lot to explore on the continent before heading there. This guide covers everything.
Southwest Exploration
From your starting island, swim southwest. You will spot a portal on a nearby island that is the entrance to Crushing Cavern. Leave it for now and check the island next to it first. There is a camp here near some broken ships with a Colour of Lumina in the area. Enemies are also wandering around — a Bruler, a Greatsword Cultist, and an Abbest. Beat them and loot the camp to find the Energising Heal Pictos.
From there, swim south until you reach an island with a whitish mountain. The portal here leads to the White Tree area. It is a small zone with a Journal and a Music Record inside. Grab both. Before you leave this island, check the tall grass on the left side of the portal to find a camp with the Shared Care Pictos.
Head east from the White Tree portal island to reach another island with the Gestral Beach portal. Cross through the White Tree area to get to the beach on the other side. A Chromatic Jar boss is standing on this beach. Defeat it, then check the small camp directly behind where it was standing to collect a Colour of Lumina. Once you have everything, swim back to your starting island.
Northwest Exploration
From the spawn island, swim northwest. On this island, you will find a Gestral merchant named Geranjo standing in front of a broken ship. He sells the Lune Outfit Skirt, Maelle Haircut Vintage, and Maelle Outfit Civilian for 1,000 Chroma each. Next to him, check the crates nearby for a Colour of Lumina.
Keep following the western shore of the island. You will find another Colour of Lumina on the beach further along. You will also notice a very large creature half-submerged in the water nearby. That is Sprong. Do not fight it right now — it is one of the hardest bosses in the game and is better left for later. Continue along the beach and look for a door on a ledge to the right. That leads to the manor.
The Manor
Go inside and you will be standing in a library with a spiral staircase ahead. Climb the stairs and keep moving forward until you find a book sitting next to a night lamp. Interact with it and a hidden door will open. Go inside and pick up the Verso Outfit Civilian from the desk.
Come back out and return to the spot you reached after climbing the stairs. This time take the left path behind the staircase. You will see some ledges — use them to climb up and follow the path to the end where the Shape of Energy is waiting. Drop back down and head to the door in the hall to exit the manor and return to the continent.
Southeast Exploration
From the starting island, swim southeast until you reach a beach with the Stone Wave Cliffs portal. Right in front of the portal is a Gestral merchant named Colaro. He sells the Sciel Haircut Vintage and Maelle Haircut Double Braid for 2,000 Chroma each. Buy what you want, then go through the portal.
Stone Wave Cliffs
As soon as you enter, look to your left. There is a lantern and some bodies of dead expeditioners nearby. Search them to find the Defensive Mode Pictos. Stay on the main path and keep walking until you reach a cliffside lit up with lamps that glow as you approach. The Record Gustave is here. Pick it up and head back out to the continent.
Continued Southeast
Back on the continent, swim east to the next island. There is a portal here called Stone Wave Cliffs Cave and a Gestral merchant named Appla standing in front of some wooden shacks. He sells the Lune Haircut Braid and Sciel Haircut Short Curly for 1,000 Chroma each.
After that, swim toward the far south. You will see a bent tower in the distance — use it as a landmark. As you get close, look to the right and you will see a stretch of shore covered in broken ships. The area has a distinctive red color so it is easy to spot. The portal here leads to Dark Shores. To the left of the portal, smash the crates to find the Dead Energy I Pictos.
Head back into the water and swim north until you find an island with a large structure on top that looks like it is floating. Follow the passage through the trees and on the left side you will find a camp with Journal Expedition 64 inside. Grab it and keep following the path until it splits.
Take the left fork first. It leads to a portal called The Meadows. Go inside and look in front of the glowing tree to find a Music Record. Come back out and take the right fork this time. There is a camp on the right side with a Colour of Lumina and a Bourgeon boss nearby. Defeating the Bourgeon gives you the Potierim weapon for Lune, the Abyssram weapon for Verso, the Augmented Counter Pictos, a Bourgeon Skin, and a Polished Chroma Catalyst.
Northeast Exploration
Swim back to the starting island and head northeast to the large island in that direction. On the far side of the island, there is a portal leading to Painting Workshop I. On the eastern shore of the same island, check the camp to find the Accelerating Heal Pictos.
Once you have everything, return to the spawn island and swim to the far north. The portal at the top leads to the Forgotten Battlefield, which is your next main story destination.
